Moonrise Kingdom

Moonrise Kingdom

I drove my Jeep through the redwoods until the road ended, then hiked five miles into the rugged Lost Coast backcountry, where I set up camp in a deep gulch and watched the fog glide in like a friendly ghost. As I tended to my campfire, I listened to the rush of the nearby creek, interrupted only by the fatal booms of distant waves crashing ashore. Ah, the perfect soundtrack to lull one into slumber. Exhausted and content, I slept for 12 straight hours, the proud ruler of my very own Moonrise Kingdom. Shot for Visit Mendocino.
